sugarbush

Syrup tree grove

A sugarbush is a grove of sugar maple trees tapped for their sap to make maple syrup.

The term is used primarily in northeastern North America, where maple sugaring is traditional: We spent March weekends at the sugarbush, collecting sap.

By extension, sugarbush can refer to the entire maple syrup operation, including the sugarhouse where sap is boiled down.
