woodlot

Small forest patch

A woodlot is a small area of woodland, typically privately owned and maintained as a source of firewood, timber, or maple syrup.

The term is chiefly North American: The family harvested firewood from their woodlot each fall.

Unlike managed forests, woodlots are usually modest parcels on farms or rural properties.
