suffragist
Ballot rights campaigner
A suffragist is someone who advocates for extending voting rights, especially to women.
The term is most associated with the movement for women's suffrage in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: The suffragists marched on Washington demanding the vote.
Unlike suffragette, which was often applied dismissively to militant activists, suffragist is the neutral term.
