stargazer
Looks up nightly
A stargazer is someone who watches the stars—either an astronomer studying celestial bodies professionally or anyone who gazes at the night sky in wonder.
The word often carries a dreamy connotation, suggesting someone lost in contemplation or given to impractical fantasies: He was a stargazer, always thinking about what could be rather than what was.
A stargazer is also a type of bottom-dwelling fish with eyes on top of its head, directed upward.
