stanzas
Grouped lines, poetry
Stanzas is the plural of stanza, a grouping of lines in a poem set off by spacing or other visual breaks.
Stanzas function somewhat like paragraphs in prose, organizing a poem into units of thought or rhythm.
Common forms have names: a couplet is two lines, a quatrain is four.
The poem's final stanzas shift from grief to acceptance.
