tercet
Trio of verses
A tercet is a group of three lines in poetry, typically unified by rhyme or theme.
The term appears most often in discussions of formal verse—Dante's *Divine Comedy* uses interlocking tercets called terza rima, where each middle line rhymes with the first and third lines of the next stanza.
The poem's closing tercet brought the meditation to rest.
