stage left
Director's blocking term
Stage left is the left side of a theater stage from the performer's perspective—facing the audience.
Stage directions use the actor's point of view, so stage left is the audience's right.
She exited stage left.
The phrase sometimes appears figuratively for a quiet or comedic departure: He made his excuses and exited stage left.
