spam call
Scammer dials you
A spam call is an unwanted phone call, typically from telemarketers, scammers, or robocalls.
The term borrows from email spam—unsolicited mass communication.
Spam calls range from annoying sales pitches to fraudulent schemes: I get at least three spam calls a day.
Most smartphones now flag suspected spam calls automatically.
