spam email
Unwanted digital messages
Spam email is unsolicited bulk electronic mail, typically advertising products, promoting scams, or spreading malware.
The term borrows from the canned meat Spam, itself popularized as a byword for unwanted repetition by a Monty Python sketch.
Most email providers filter spam automatically: Check your spam folder if you're missing messages.
Also called junk mail.
