slackline

Tensioned walking strap

A slackline is a flat nylon webbing stretched between two anchor points—usually trees—for walking, balancing, and performing tricks.

Unlike a tightrope, it has significant give and bounce, requiring dynamic balance rather than rigid control.

Slacklining emerged from rock climbing culture and ranges from low lines in parks to highlines strung across canyons: She spent the afternoon practicing on the slackline.
