skirtings
Floor-wall trim pieces
Skirtings are the boards or moldings that run along the base of interior walls where they meet the floor—what Americans call baseboards.
The term is primarily British: The skirtings need repainting.
Skirting boards protect walls from scuffs and cover the joint between wall and floor.
