Sinuses are hollow cavities, especially the air-filled spaces in the skull that connect to the nasal passages.
When people complain about their sinuses, they usually mean these are congested or inflamed: My sinuses are killing me.
The term extends to any cavity or channel in body tissue, and in medicine describes abnormal passages formed by disease or injury.
