Covert visibility restriction
Shadowbanning is a moderation technique where a user's posts are hidden from others without notifying the user.
The shadowbanned person continues posting normally, unaware their content is invisible to everyone else.
Platforms use it to discourage bad actors without provoking them: I think I've been shadowbanned—my tweets get zero engagement.
Also called a stealth ban or ghost ban.
