seaweeds
Ocean's leafy plants
Seaweeds are marine algae—plants or plant-like organisms that grow in the ocean, from tiny filaments to giant kelp forests.
They attach to rocks, float freely, or wash up on beaches.
Some varieties are edible: nori wraps sushi, kelp flavors broths, and dulse is eaten as a snack.
The tide left seaweeds draped across the rocks.
