sea anemones

Clownfish shelter animals

Sea anemones is the plural of sea anemone, a marine animal that attaches to rocks or coral and resembles a flower.

Named for the anemone flower, these soft-bodied creatures have a central mouth surrounded by stinging tentacles that capture small fish and other prey.

They're common in tide pools and coral reefs: The tide pool was full of colorful sea anemones.
