sea wolves
Maritime plunderers historically
Sea wolves are coastal wolves of the Pacific Northwest that have adapted to a marine environment, hunting seals, scavenging beached whales, and swimming between islands.
The term also appears historically for pirates or Viking raiders—predators of the sea in human form.
The sea wolves of British Columbia can swim for miles between islands.
