rubbing alcohol
First-aid antiseptic
Rubbing alcohol is a solution of isopropyl alcohol or ethanol used as a disinfectant and antiseptic.
It's applied topically to clean wounds, sterilize surfaces, or cool the skin.
The name comes from its use in rubdowns and massages.
Unlike drinking alcohol, rubbing alcohol is toxic if ingested: She dabbed rubbing alcohol on the cut.
