rubbers

Slip-on rain footwear

Rubbers is the plural of rubber—elastic material, erasers, or condoms.

In American English, rubbers are also waterproof overshoes worn to protect dress shoes from rain or snow: Don't forget your rubbers, it's pouring out there.

This sense is old-fashioned but still understood.

In card games like bridge, a rubber is a set of games, usually best of three.
