row houses

Shared-wall urban homes

Row houses are residential buildings joined in a continuous line, sharing side walls with their neighbors.

Common in older American cities like Philadelphia and Baltimore, they create uniform streetscapes of identical or similar facades.

British English uses terraced houses for the same concept: a block of row houses, the historic row houses of Georgetown.
