rollerblades

Wheels under feet

Rollerblades are inline skates—boots with wheels arranged in a single row rather than the two-by-two configuration of traditional roller skates.

The term comes from the brand name Rollerblade, which popularized inline skating in the 1980s and became genericized: We used to rollerblade around the neighborhood after school.

The activity is rollerblading.
