reports

Documents findings formally

Reports are accounts of events, findings, or information, usually delivered to someone in authority: The committee submitted its reports to the board.

A report can be a document, a spoken account, or news coverage.

To report is to give an account, to present oneself (report for duty), or to inform on someone.

A report is also a sharp explosive sound, especially from a gun: The report of the rifle echoed through the valley.
