remainder
What division leaves
Remainder is what's left over after part of something has been used, removed, or accounted for.
In division, the remainder is the amount left when one number doesn't divide evenly into another: Seven divided by three gives two, remainder one.
In publishing, remainders are unsold books sold at steep discounts.
