overage

Beyond the limit

Overage refers to an amount exceeding what's expected, allowed, or budgeted: The production overage pushed us over budget.

In shipping and inventory, it's surplus goods beyond the manifest.

In contracts, overage clauses require additional payments when sales exceed thresholds.

Separately, overage (pronounced with stress on the second syllable) means too old for something: overage for military service.
