radiation dose
Measured nuclear exposure
Radiation dose measures the amount of ionizing radiation absorbed by a person or object.
Different units quantify different aspects: absorbed dose (grays or rads) measures energy deposited in tissue, while equivalent dose (sieverts or rems) accounts for biological harm from different radiation types.
The workers' radiation doses were monitored with badges.
Dose limits protect against both immediate effects and long-term cancer risk.
