Messages on boards
Postings are items that have been posted—messages sent to online forums or bulletin boards, announcements displayed publicly, or job assignments to new locations.
A soldier receives postings to different bases; a company advertises job postings; users leave postings in discussion threads.
The word carries a slight formality compared to simply calling them posts.
