pimento
Red pepper bits
Pimento, also spelled pimiento, is a mild, heart-shaped red pepper often found stuffed inside green olives or pureed into pimento cheese, a Southern American spread.
The word also refers to allspice, the dried berry of a Caribbean tree—a usage more common in British English.
The olives stuffed with pimento added color to the relish tray.
