peace talk
Conflict resolution meeting
Peace talks are negotiations aimed at ending armed conflict or resolving serious disputes between opposing parties.
The term almost always appears in the plural, even when referring to a single round of discussions: The peace talks collapsed after three days.
Peace talks may be direct or mediated by a third party, and their failure often signals renewed hostilities.
