pathing
Plotting a course
Pathing refers to the route or trajectory something follows, especially in video games where it describes how characters or units navigate through an environment.
AI-controlled enemies use pathing algorithms to move around obstacles: The boss's pathing is predictable once you learn the pattern.
Poor pathing frustrates players when characters get stuck or take illogical routes.
Outside gaming, pathing occasionally describes career trajectories or workflow design.
