passband

Filter's transmission window

A passband is the range of frequencies that a filter or electronic device allows to pass through while blocking frequencies outside that range.

In audio equipment, a passband determines which sounds get through; in radio, it defines the slice of spectrum a receiver accepts.

The filter's passband extends from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
