zero point
Where numbering begins
Zero point is the origin or baseline from which measurements are taken—the position on a scale corresponding to zero.
In physics, zero-point energy is the lowest possible energy a quantum system can have, even at absolute zero temperature.
More generally, zero point can mark any starting reference: Reset the gauge to zero point before calibrating.
