double-glazed

Thermally sealed windows

Double-glazed describes windows or doors with two panes of glass separated by an air gap, providing better insulation than single panes: We replaced all the old windows with double-glazed units.

The trapped air reduces heat transfer and noise.

Common in British English; Americans often say "dual-pane" or "double-pane."
