A nameboard is a board displaying a name, typically mounted on a building, vehicle, or vessel to identify it.
On ships, the nameboard appears on the hull or stern.
On buildings, it identifies businesses or residences.
Railroad stations traditionally featured nameboards on platforms: The old nameboard still hung above the ticket window.
