unveiling

Removing the cover

Unveiling is the act of removing a covering to reveal something for the first time, typically at a ceremony: the unveiling of a new monument, the unveiling of a portrait.

The word extends to any formal introduction or first public showing: Apple's unveiling of its latest product, the unveiling of a new policy.
