motorship
Diesel-propelled vessel
A motorship is a ship powered by internal combustion engines rather than steam or sail.
The term distinguishes engine-driven vessels from steamships, though as diesel engines became standard in commercial shipping, the distinction lost much of its practical importance.
Abbreviated M/S or MS before a vessel's name: MS Queen Elizabeth.
