tramper

One who treks

A tramper is someone who tramps—walks heavily or travels on foot over long distances.

In New Zealand, tramper is the standard word for a hiker: The trampers set out on the Milford Track at dawn.

The word can also mean a tramp steamer or, less commonly, someone who lives as a vagrant.
