Fictional satellite dweller
A moonman is a hypothetical or fictional inhabitant of the moon, or an astronaut who has traveled there.
The term often appears in science fiction or whimsical contexts: The child drew moonmen with antennae.
In contemporary slang, moonman can describe someone who seems spaced out or disconnected from reality.
The MTV Video Music Award trophy, depicting an astronaut on the moon, is informally called a moonman.
