Buzz Aldrin

Buzz Aldrin is an American astronaut who, on July 20, 1969, became the second person to walk on the moon, following Neil Armstrong during the Apollo 11 mission.

A former Air Force pilot, Aldrin became a public figure advocating for space exploration.

His nickname Buzz, originally from his sister's mispronunciation of "brother," became his legal first name.
