Neil Armstrong
First lunar walker
Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut who became the first human to walk on the moon, during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.
His words upon stepping onto the lunar surface—That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind—became one of the most quoted lines of the twentieth century.
Before joining NASA, Armstrong was a naval aviator and test pilot.
