earthman
Alien's local counterpart
Earthman is a science fiction term for a human being from Earth, used when distinguishing humans from extraterrestrial species: The earthman stood before the Martian council.
The word assumes a perspective from outside Earth, appearing in pulp sci-fi of the mid-20th century.
Now largely replaced by gender-neutral alternatives like earthling or terran.
