mages

Wielders of arcana

Mages is the plural of mage, a person who practices magic—a wizard, sorcerer, or magician.

The word appears almost exclusively in fantasy fiction, video games, and role-playing contexts: The party included two warriors and a mage, Mages can cast spells but have weak armor.

It carries a more serious, archaic tone than magician.
