long beans
Slender Asian pods
Long beans are a variety of green bean that grows to unusual length—typically one to two feet.
Also called yard-long beans or snake beans, they're common in Asian cuisines, often stir-fried or added to curries.
The texture is slightly chewier and the flavor earthier than standard green beans: I picked up some long beans at the Asian grocery.
