long COVID
Lingering viral aftermath
Long COVID is the persistence of symptoms weeks or months after the acute phase of a COVID-19 infection has resolved.
Common complaints include fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath, and joint pain, though the constellation of symptoms varies widely.
The condition can affect people who had mild initial infections as well as those who were hospitalized: She's been dealing with long COVID for over a year now.
