lofting
Full-scale hull drafting
Lofting is the act of sending something high into the air with a gentle arc: He lofted the ball over the defender's head.
In golf and other sports, lofting emphasizes height over distance.
The term also applies in shipbuilding and aerospace to the process of drawing full-scale plans or creating smooth curves between fixed points.
