flight path

Airplane's planned course

A flight path is the route an aircraft or spacecraft follows through the air or space.

The term applies both to planned trajectories and actual courses traveled: Air traffic controllers monitor flight paths to prevent collisions.

By extension, anything moving through air—a ball, a bird, a bullet—can have a flight path.
