loading bay

Freight receiving area

A loading bay is a designated area where vehicles park to load or unload goods, typically a recessed dock at a warehouse or commercial building that aligns with truck bed height: Deliveries arrive at the loading bay between 6 and 9 AM.

The term is more common in British English; Americans often say loading dock.
