living walls
Buildings wearing plants
Living walls are vertical surfaces covered with growing plants, typically installed on building exteriors or interiors.
Also called green walls or vertical gardens, they use specialized systems to support soil or growing medium against a wall.
Living walls serve aesthetic purposes, improve air quality, and provide insulation: The office lobby features a three-story living wall of ferns and mosses.
