sick building syndrome
Indoor environmental malaise
Sick building syndrome refers to a pattern of symptoms—headaches, fatigue, respiratory irritation, difficulty concentrating—that occupants experience while inside a particular building, with symptoms typically improving after they leave.
The condition is attributed to poor indoor air quality from inadequate ventilation, chemical contaminants from carpets or cleaning products, mold, or other environmental factors.
Several employees complained of sick building syndrome after the office renovations.
