lesbians
Women loving women
Lesbians are women who are sexually and romantically attracted to other women.
The term derives from Lesbos, the Greek island home of the ancient poet Sappho, whose verses celebrated love between women.
The bar was popular with lesbians and bisexual women.
While some women prefer other terms like "gay women," lesbian remains the primary word for female homosexuality. (Capitalized Lesbians refers to people from the island of Lesbos.)
