gay characters
Queer fictional people
Gay characters are fictional people in books, films, television, games, or other media who are homosexual or otherwise same-sex attracted.
The term often appears in discussions of representation: The show was praised for its well-written gay characters.
Sometimes used dismissively by those who see LGBTQ inclusion as forced or tokenistic: They're just adding gay characters for diversity points.
