lean-tos

One-slope roof structures

Lean-tos are simple shelters with a single-sloped roof that leans against a larger structure or is propped up by poles.

The design is among the most basic in construction, often used for temporary camps, storage, or as additions to existing buildings.

Hikers build lean-tos from branches and tarps for overnight shelter, while more permanent versions serve as woodsheds or carports.

We found an old lean-to behind the cabin.
